Volunteer to foster orphaned kittens and mom cats with kittens. We provide education, supplies, and medical support for our foster families.
Volunteer to help care for cats at the Ark. We are always short-handed, and by volunteering as little as one day a month you can facilitate saving more lives.
Volunteer to work at the PetSmart adoption center. This includes cleaning cages and doing adoptions. We need help to cover two days a week so that the regular adoption counselor can have time off.
Consider adopting a special Ark cat. Some of our cats don’t do well in cages. These are often cats who like other cats better than they like humans. In many cases they learn to love their humans in a quiet, patient home.
Provide financial support. This support contributes heavily to the daily care of the many cats at the Ark; veterinary care for the “broken” cats that we take in; and spay/neuter, vaccines, and microchips for all the cats we take in.
One of our most important long term needs is for people with internet research skills to search out sources of funding for animal rescue operations.
We need help from a humane educator person to develop materials for use in school presentations. The skills needed for this are creative writing, editorial and desktop publishing know how. We have many pictures to go with the stories that will be written thanks to Tammy and Mary.
Presenter/Educator to go into schools to educate and win a new generation to the cause of spay-neuter and “Trap, Neuter, Return” to end the killing of homeless companion animals.
People to help at adoption events.
